Very warm & welcoming service. Customer is mainly local Portuguese. Grilled octopus & sea bass are well cooked. Just delicious!! Friendly price comparing with restaurants at the Main Street.

The place is superb, it has a feeling of proper family owned run. Full attention and flavour. Ordered a bacalhau a brasa. Spot on¡! Service and atmosphere of proper Portuguese place

I spend most of my summers in Portugal and when in matosinhos, my wife and i we had having lots of meals at Chaves, the food top notch 👌 the service great and worm people, and Mr. João the proprietary is an excelente person.

Ristorante/trattoria a conduzione familiare situato alla fine di una via ricca di locali analoghi (più appariscenti e forse più costosi). Abbiamo pranzato in tre. Piatti ben cucinati, abbondanti e squisiti. Complimenti per il servizio e la disponibilità del personale. Ottimo il rapporto qualità/prezzo.

Family-run restaurant/trattoria located at the end of a street lined with similar (but more flashy and perhaps more expensive) establishments. Three of us had lunch. The dishes were well-cooked, plentiful, and delicious. Kudos to the service and helpful staff. Excellent value.

It was an experience. A couple we met recommended it to us, another bar in downtown Porto. And we weren't disappointed. It may not be the prettiest in the area, but the quality of the food is top-notch. The octopus salad was delicious, and the grilled sea bream was exquisite. If you have the chance to go, don't miss it, and the price is super affordable. You'll get the same quality as all the nearby restaurants with better prices.
